About Clementine Counseling

Warm, relational, human-centered therapy

Hi, I’m Emily. I’m really glad you’re here.

I’m the therapist behind Clementine Counseling, and I hold space for people who are trying to make sense of their stories, relationships, identities, and the world around them. My style is warm, relational, and conversational—less “expert on a pedestal” and more “two humans sitting together, figuring things out with compassion and honesty.”

I believe healing happens in connection. Not rushed or forced, but in the gentle places where your real self gets to breathe.

How I Work

Relational • Psychodynamic • Contextually

Therapy with me is collaborative, grounded, and built around your voice. Together, we explore patterns in relationships, how past experiences shape the present, and the cultural and systemic forces that impact your sense of safety and belonging.

What It’s Like to Work Together

Clients describe me as warm, intuitive, and deeply human. I bring curiosity, gentleness, and humor when it fits. This is your space, your pace, your story — and I’m here to walk alongside. You don’t have to hold anything perfectly—you just get to show up as you are.

A Bit About My Roots

I was born in California, and while life has taken me many places, I still feel most connected to its coast, sunsets, and the people who shaped my earliest sense of home. Washington became a grounding and pivotal home later, and much of my work grew from the relationships, communities, and care spaces I’ve been lucky to belong to.

I’m endlessly fascinated by the brain — how it survives, adapts, protects, and heals. I read constantly, love learning new things, and enjoy bringing that curiosity into therapy without letting it take over the room.

Nature is another steady influence in my life and work — I feel most myself near water, trees, and open sky. Animals have also always been part of my internal compass — steady, intuitive presences who show us how to attune, regulate, hold boundaries, and soften without needing words. They’ve been some of my most honest and gentle teachers.

The name Clementine Counseling actually honors a special dog of mine and my longtime connection to California — its warmth, creativity, and the reminder that healing doesn’t have to follow one script or look one specific way.

Mostly, I believe therapy works best when it feels human — where questions are welcome, honesty is safe, and connection grows at a pace that respects you. I deeply value my community, my people, thoughtful care spaces, and the quiet guides who remind us how to soften, reflect, and begin again.
